Our story begins with a legacy rooted in Hawaii's ranching tradition, spanning four generations of dedication to the land and community. It started with my grandfather, a third-generation rancher, who purchased his first 100 acres in Paauilo Mauka on the Big Island in the late 1940s. From raising cattle and hand-milking Holstein cows to managing one of the island's largest dairies, his tireless work built the foundation of our family’s ranching heritage. Over the years, my family continued to expand and adapt, raising cattle, sheep, and other livestock while fostering a deep connection to the land. Today, I carry this legacy forward through First Gate Farms, combining traditional ranching with innovative farming practices. Based on Maui, we offer pasture-raised meats and fresh produce, bridging the past with the future to provide our community with high-quality, locally sourced food while honoring the values that have guided us for generations.
